Cream Puffs

Our puff shells are baked fresh daily and contain two special layers. The inner layer is a choux pastry shell and the outer layer is a piecrust. This unique structure creates a light, crunchy shell.

 

Our special, secret recipe of whipped cream custard takes 2 hours to prepare. We pod handpicked vanilla beans from Madagascar and use them lavishly in our cream. You'll see the tiny black grains and smell the wonderful sweet aroma as you bite into our cream puffs.

 

To make sure we serve you only the best, our fresh baked crunchy puffs are filled with whipped cream custard right before your eyes only when an order is placed. We finish them off with our last touch of magic, a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

 

Beard Papa's cream puffs taste best eaten right after you purchase them. If you aren't able to enjoy the puffs right away, please refrigerate them immediately.

The Hawaii Connection

The Sullivan Family of Companies is proud to have brought Beard Papa to Hawaii in 2005. The introduction of this new retail establishment continues the legacy of innovation begun by the founder of the Sullivan Family of Companies, the late Maurice J. "Sully" Sullivan. After founding Hawaii's first supermarket in 1948, Sully opened more than 175 retail stores in Hawaii and abroad, from supermarkets, to hotel and gift boutique shops, to McDonald's restaurants. Collectively, Sully's Foodland Super Market, Ltd., Food Pantry, Ltd., and Kalama Beach Corporation operate nearly 150 retail stores across Hawaii and the U.S. mainland.

 

The Japan Connection

The Hawaii franchise of Beard Papa although owned and operated by the Sullivan Family of Companies, has strong ties with the parent company, Muginoho USA, Inc. Based in New York, Muginoho USA, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Muginoho, Ltd. a company based in Osaka, Japan. Muginoho USA, Inc. oversees the development of the Beard Papa's brand and over 14 other restaurant concepts throughout the US and Canada. The first Beard Papa store opened on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in March 2004 with much fanfare and the opening attracted the attention of both "trend setters" and "world-class pastry chefs". Currently, there are 26 stores in New York, New Jersey, California, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Washington, Texas, District of Columbia, Georgia, Florida and Canada. This proprietor of what many have called "the world's best cream puffs" also has 240 outlets in Japan, and over 40 franchise elsewhere in Asia.
